35 Weeks!

He's getting SO big! We went to the doctor this Monday and got some good news. First the best news: in these past two weeks, I only gained 1.5lbs total! (I know some of you are thinking that that is a lot, but for the past 4 weeks I have been gaining about 2lbs a week!) Needless to say, I felt quite victorious after getting off the scale! Next good news: baby had a growth spurt in the last 2 weeks and is measuring 2cm longer than he should. Really it's not that big of a deal, but I secretly hope this means he's coming sooner! :)
I really don't mind being pregnant and really wouldn't be all that anxious about going past my due date like most 1st time moms do, it's just that we are cutting it SO close with our move to Arizona right after he's due, that I'd REALLY like him to make an appearance closer to the beginning of July. Ransom is driving with his dad from WA through UT and picking up a U-Haul with all our stuff from the storage unit and taking it to AZ. He's leaving August 7th which really doesn't leave much time for the baby to take his sweet time. I'm flying with the little guy Aug 15th and Ransom only starts school 4 days later. Life will be crazy. But what can you do? Now we wait... :)

We've had lots of fun this past week! On Thursday my sister, the photographer, talked me into doing some maternity shoots. She's been trying to get me to let her take some pics for a while now but every time she does, I feel to ug to participate. This time, she gave me some advanced notice and did my makeup. :) This is what are big sisters for! Anyway, she took some "studio" shots in our parent's room and then we went outside to our city golf course and took some more. Here are some of them:

Then on Friday, Ransom, my sister and I went to Portland for the night just for fun. The normally 2 hour trip took almost 4 thanks to the lovely traffic :) We stayed in the downtown motel 6... a bit sketchy to say the least. And I won't even go into what we found on the sheets! We found a super yummy place to eat dinner, Pastini (sp?). Then we made our journey to the Lloyd Center mall in pursuit of seeing date night at the movie theater... but to our dismay the last showing was the night before. Boo! We settled for The Killers which actually turned out to be a pretty funny movie. We had an extra 1/2 hr to kill before it started though so we decided to watch all the people on the ice skating rink in the middle of the mall (this mall is huge!). Rumor has it Tonya Harding (past olympic contestant who called a hit man to injure Nancy Kerrigan before the games in the 90s) still practiced there. Unfortunately we had to settle for watching about 100 preteens strut their stuff mostly falling on their butts. Our personal favorite was a certain 18yr oldish boy wearing his own headphones and skating to his own classical routine. There has to come a point in every teenage skater's life where he realizes he's just not going to make it to the olympics. Unfortunately for this young man, that epiphany had not been had yet.
On Saturday we went to the Portland Rose Test Garden. It was super pretty and we had some fun looking/smelling all the roses.

After a shopping excursion to the tax-less outlets, we made our journey home! Good week! :)
