Yes, I do realize that my only claim to crafting fame is my needlepoint stockings (which don't even require creativity since the kits are made by someone else) but with the brain I was given, this is my best effort!
I really had a hard time with this stocking. I had two kits I had gotten from after Christmas sales, one with a blue background and one with a reddish pink background. I got the blue one first and even though I wasn't pregnant, I started on it hoping that would happen soon. A few weeks later I got the positive test and along with it, the sure feeling a baby girl was on the way. So I put away the blue stocking and contemplated starting the red one. Luckily procrastination got in the way so neither were worked on for months. When I was shocked with the news that we were having a boy I knew the blue stocking was the way to go.... but I got lazy.
Finally, about a month ago, enough was enough. And every night/weekend I have spent a ridiculous number of hours trying to crank this thing out before our little man's arrival. Last night was the night. I took a picture before adding his name but rest assured, it's now on there. Now for another afternoon spent with my wonderful mother-in-law to help me back and finish it. I think Santa may actually have a stocking to fill by Christmas Eve!
And quick pregnancy update: today I'm 39 weeks 4 days. I had an appointment yesterday and I was still only dilated to a 1 and 40% effaced. We're really hoping for a vaginal delivery, but unless we see some action soon, I think we'll have another c-section on the 20th/21st. Oh well- we get a baby either way, right?! :)
